Hi,
My name is Moonie Fishburn and I am a woman in my 50's. I'm married with two children (22 & 18) and work in business management. I live in Pacific Palisades, Ca and keep myself pretty busy with work, running the house, kids and family, working out and hanging with my friends. I love to entertain and be entertained! We also love to travel and here's a recent picture of us in front of the Taj Mahal in India.
A typical day in my mouth is as follows.
I wake up around 6:50am and get out of bed around 7:05 am! I make breakfast for both of my kids (yes I still do that!) and after they leave for work and school, I will eat my breakfast while watching the Today show or other morning programs. I'm a channel surfer ! My breakfast today was Greek yogurt with fresh mixed berries. I then have a few glasses of water and take a few vitamins like Omega 3 and vitamin D. I tend to eat protein and fruit in the morning. I really like it and helps me to feel fuller during the day.
I will then try and workout. I go either spinning or take a dance class. I also like to take walks. Today I went spinning! It was a killer! I don't understand why it isn't getting easier. I drink a lot of water during and after I spin.
I then raced home, took a shower and ate another piece of fruit (mandarin orange) and left for work. My office is only 10 mins from my house so my commute is quick! While at work, I will fill a glass of water at my desk and sip on that throughout the day filling it up as needed. I would say I drink about 3 glasses at work.
Lunch for me today was going to a place called Freshii in Brentwood. I often go to Subway and get a turkey or tuna sandwich but I have switched it up a bit lately. I ordered a lemon grass soup with noodles, carrots, bean sprouts, mushrooms and cilantro. I then added shrimp to the soup. I brought my soup back to the office and ate with a few of the girls in the back room. I also continue to drink my water. I thought the soup was pretty good but definitely not the best lemongrass soup I have had! I did add extra lemon juice to the soup. I didn't finish the soup and saved the rest to take home with me. It was a fairly large amount.
I then went back to my desk and worked a bit more and felt like I wanted a little something more. I keep a stash of Barbara's natural cheese puffs in my desk drawer. I whipped about 1 cups worth of those and munched away. I love them and they seem to satisfy any crunching cravings I have. Plus they are not that high in calories which is a good thing for me! I then grabbed a cup of green tea with splenda around 3:00pm. I'm not a coffee drinker in the morning but will treat myself to a latte at various points in the day. Today it was just green tea!
I then left the office which was quite busy today and raced home to throw a little dinner together before we had to leave for a presentation at my daughter's high school that she was speaking on. It turned out to be a leftovers dinner tonight. Not much time to cook since she needed to leave in 45 mins. I reheated a gnocchi baked pasta that we made the night before along with some rotisserie chicken from the night before. I had a little of the gnocchi (it's rich but yummy) and decided to finish off my soup. Once again, water was the beverage of choice.
I quickly freshened up my make up and left for my daughter's school. I got there early because of course my daughter gave me the wrong time! So I chatted on the phone with a friend and chewed some sugar free gum (Extra Spearmint). I then went in to watch the presentation and was blown away by the program and what an honor it was that my kid was chosen to speak. She was just great and this deserved a celebration! My husband didn't come because he didn't think it was a big deal. Poor guy missed out! Like most good moms I thought we should go out and get some ice cream to celebrate. We discussed where to go and decided that we wanted yummy pastries instead. We headed over to Toscana which is an Italian restaurant and ordered a sampler platter. It included ricotta cheesecake, chocolate tart, blueberry tart, raspberry tarts and banana tart. Mind you these are all small slivers but we did manage to almost eat the whole plate! They also gave us a small sugar cookie. We both had mint tea and water with our dessert. It was a really wonderful ending to a busy day! Just hanging with her and eating dessert at 9:30pm! Fun!
We then got home, checked emails etc.. Filled my husband in on what he missed grabbed my IPAD to read the news of the day and feel fast asleep! I usually don't go to bed until midnight! It all starts again tomorrow! :)

Well, well, Ms. Moonie from the days on San Vicente Blvd. How quaint to see that you're living like an Indian Princess out there in the Palisades....praise be to Allah, or Ellah, or Eyiah, or whatever....
